Paula Stern to Moderate WITA Panel Discussion on Russian Sanctions

On March 10, 2022 at 10am EST, Hon. Paula Stern, former chairwoman to the United States International Trade Commission, will moderate the Washington International Trade Association’s (WITA) panel discussion on Russian sanctions and the history of sanctions targeting Russia and the USSR. Dr. Stern is the author of Waters Edge: Domestic Politics and the Making of American Foreign Policy, an in depth analysis and history of the 1970s legislative-executive contentious debate over US-USSR trade relations.

The discussion will feature:

Amb. Alan Larson – Senior International Policy Advisor, Covington & Burling LLP; former Under Secretary of State for Economics and Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, and Ambassador to the OECD
Maria Snegovaya – Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic and Trans-European Space Studies at Virginia Tech University, and a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies and the Illiberalism Studies Program at George Washington University. Co-author of the paper, The Impact of Western Sanctions on Russia and How They Can be Made Even More Effective
